Unwavering Commitment to People & the Planet
At Mokosh, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s at the heart of everything we do.
From the ingredients we source to the way we package and ship our products, we make conscious choices that protect our planet, support ethical practices, and promote long-term skin health.
Unlike conventional skin care, Mokosh formulations are designed to be as kind to the Earth as they are to your skin. We go beyond industry standards to ensure every aspect of our brand aligns with our values of purity, responsibility, and sustainability.
Certified Organic
Our range is 100% certified organic, a distinction that ensures:
- No pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, or harmful chemicals used in the farming of our ingredients, protecting our waterways, soils, and biodiversity;
- Ethical and sustainable farming practices that regenerate rather than deplete our planet’s resources and support fair working conditions;
- Safer, more potent skin care without unnecessary additives and skin harming preservatives.
Water-Free & Filler-Free Formulations
Did you know that most skin care products contain up to 80% water? At Mokosh, we take a different approach. Our products are completely water-free and filler-free. This means:
- Less waste — our products last longer, reducing the need for frequent repurchases.
- Lower carbon footprint — concentrated formulas means less packaging and reduces emissions from shipping.
- More powerful skin care — every ingredient in our formulations actively benefits your skin.
By eliminating water and fillers, we create effective skin care that supports both your skin and the environment.
Zero Waste Packaging
Sustainable skin care isn’t just about what’s inside the jar, it’s also about what happens once the product is used up.
We ship your orders using paper and cardboard packing materials. Our skin care packaging is primarily glass, paper, and cardboard. We use a small amount of plastic where it cannot be avoided: for pumps and closures.
All elements of our packaging, including the plastic, can be reused, composted or recycled.
We run a reply-paid container return scheme to make this process easier. Through this system we sterilise and reuse glass jars and pay to have plastic components recycled with Terracycle.
Our packaging choices reflect our deep commitment to waste reduction and circular economy principles.

Ethical Sourcing
Mokosh is committed to supporting fair and ethical trade. We source our raw materials with care, prioritising both environmental and social responsibility. This includes:
- We purchase all our coconut oil, shea butter, and cacao butter from fair trade suppliers.
- All certified organic ingredients include a social justice component, ensuring fair wages and ethical working conditions (as outlined in the National Standard).
By choosing Mokosh, you are supporting organic farming communities and contributing to a fairer, more sustainable world.
We Plant Trees - Lots of Them
To offset our carbon emissions and ensure a greener world for tomorrow, we engage in local planting initiatives.
Since April 2019, we have been purchasing trees from Carbon Neutral and from One Tree Planted.
To date, we have purchased over 8000 trees, and counting.
We continue to purchase one tree with every online order valued at $100 or more. Thank you to all our customers, Australian and international, for supporting our Plant-A-Tree Campaign.

Low-Waste, Solar-Powered Manufacturing
Mokosh products are handcrafted in small batches in our studio in Fremantle, Western Australia.
We operate under the internationally recognized ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practice certification, which guarantees the highest global standards for safety, consistency, and quality.
- Our operations are powered by solar energy with battery storage, reducing reliance on non-renewable resources.
- We reduce overproduction and ingredient wastage by producing in small-batches
- Our bespoke, handcrafted approach ensures you receive a product of exceptional quality and freshness, and each jar and bottle meets our high quality standards.
Palm Oil Free
Our full range is certified palm oil free with Orangutan Alliance, an independent, non-profit organisation promoting reduced palm oil use in consumer products through their palm oil free certification program.
Palm oil cultivation requires the clearing of valuable ecosystems, resulting in habitat loss for vulnerable species and significant greenhouse emissions. Palm oil is added to most packaged foods, and is a hidden ingredient in virtually all skin care products. Our unique formulations allow us to keep our products completely palm oil free.

No Animal Testing, Ever
We believe that skin care should be kind to your skin, to the planet, and to all living beings.
Neither our final products nor our raw ingredients are tested on animals, as certified by NASAA.
