Beyond the Industry Standard
All our products, except the soaps, contain 100% certified organic ingredients - our products are virtually unique in being able to achieve this level.
We can confidently say we are the cleanest skin care in the world.
Certified Organic Since 2012
If it isn’t ‘certified organic’, you can’t be sure it is organic.
In Australia, the term ‘organic’ is not regulated as it is in the United States, Japan and China – this means the term ‘organic’ can be used anywhere, anytime, without any legal consequences.
All Mokosh products have been certified organic to the Australian Standard through NASAA since 2012.
Formal organic certification is our guarantee to you that along the entire supply chain, our skin care has been produced to the Australian National Standard for Organic and Biodynamic Produce, and audited annually by NASAA (The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia).

Certified to the Highest Standard
Mokosh products are certified organic under the Australian Standard with NASAA. This means our products are held to the same strict standards as certified organic food.
This standard requires that products contain a minimum of 95% certified organic ingredients, and any remaining non-certified ingredients must be of agricultural origin, or an ingredient that is approved by the certifying body.
Most Cosmetics Don’t Meet This Standard
Currently around 85% of certified organic brands are certified under the far more lenient COSMOS standard.
Under this standard, a product may contain as little as 20% total organic ingredients and rinse-off cosmetics as little as 10%.
Chemically processed agricultural ingredients and ingredients of ‘non natural origin’, such as solvents and preservatives of petrochemical origin, can also be added.
This standard, created by European certifiers and introduced to Australia in 2018, allows many more skin care brands to make the ‘certified organic’ claim – this can be very confusing for those who want to buy organic.

How do we do it?
It’s no secret.
By keeping things simple.
Our formulas are made from certified organic botanicals, nothing else.
No water, no filler, no synthetics. This is how we have been able to achieve 100% certified organic ingredients.
Why would you choose to use anything else on your precious body?
Better for Your Skin, Better For The Planet
Obtaining organic certification also requires meeting strict environmental and social justice standards. For example, it requires minimalist packaging that, where possible, incorporates recyclable and biodegradable materials, and no animal testing may be performed on any of the ingredients or the final product.
In addition to assuring the percentage of organic content, it also assures that certain ingredients are not added to the product.
Examples of ingredients prohibited from certified organic skin care but frequently added to conventional skin care include nano-compounds, GMO’s, PEG’s, synthetic fragrances, paraben preservatives and other synthetic ingredients that may be harmful to health.
