Our Makeup Remover & Cleansing Oil will cleanse the skin of oil-soluble dirt and pollutants while delivering pro-vitamin A and E, both potent antioxidants. This is an incredibly gentle yet effective cleanser and highly recommended for sensitive skin.
Our Pure Hydrosol Toner has anti-inflammatory properties and a pH of around 5. This gentle toner is loved by those with sensitive skin. It helps restore the skin’s acid mantle and creates an aqueous base on which to apply our water-free moisturisers.
Choose from our Elderberry & Chia Beauty Serum, a light and highly bioactive concentrate designed for oily and combination skin types, or our Raspberry & Pomegranate Beauty Serum, designed for normal and dry skin types.
If extra moisturisation is needed, we suggest our Everybody Cream or our Skin Saviour Cream. Both are gentle, soothing and fragrance free.

All of our serums are suitable for sensitive skin. Choose from our Elderberry & Chia Beauty Serum, designed for oily and combination skin types, or our Raspberry & Pomegranate Beauty Serum, designed for normal and dry skin types, or our Bakuchiol Revival Serum that tackles signs of ageing. These highly bioactive concentrates are nourishing and light enough to use as a neck and eye serum.
Our Everybody Cream is fragrance free and designed for sensitive skin. Can be layered on top of serums or alone. Perfect as a night cream during the colder, harsher months. For a lighter option, we recommend our Skin Saviour Cream, specifically designed for the delicate skin of the face, neck and eye region.
The 1:5 Rule
Mokosh formulas are around 5 times more concentrated than regular skin care products.
This means that you only need to use one-fifth the amount.
As a general rule, half a pea-sized amount will moisturise your whole face.
Most people with sensitive skin have a skin barrier that is not functioning at its best. The skin’s outer layer, the epidermis, may be thinner, or have lower levels of ceramides in the protective lipid layer. These changes make the skin more permeable to irritating substances.
Our skin barrier is made up of three components: the lipid (waterproof) layer, the acid mantle, and the microbiome. When all parts of our skin’s barrier are intact, our skin is healthy and glowing. However, a change in just one aspect can result in dryness, irritation, redness or acne.
Mokosh products contain no preservatives - these are powerful antimicrobial compounds added to water-containing skin care that can disturb your skin's microbiome. They are also free of detergents and emulsifiers that can disrupt your skin's waterproof barrier. Our formulas enhance the levels of the specialised barrier-restoring lipids, the ceramides, increasing resilience to barrier disturbances.
Certain ingredients - especially perfumes, preservatives, emulsifiers - can trigger reactions in some people. However any ingredient, no matter how ‘natural’ can trigger a skin reaction. People with inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and acne already have a barrier that is not functioning well, and so sensitivity is more likely when skin conditions are active.
Products that contain common skin irritants (perfume, emulsifiers, essential oils, preservatives, synthetics), detergent cleansers, harsh scrubs and exfoliants, and some actives (acids, retinol, vitamin C).
Most people don’t realise that standard liquid face cleansers are made from detergents, sometimes called surfactants. Although these cleansers do a good job removing dirt, they can also deplete the oily part of your skin’s barrier. Your skin may feel 'squeaky clean' - but the skin’s barrier can become so depleted that it is susceptible to irritants and invasive bacteria, resulting in chronic skin problems.
Emulsifiers are ingredients that allow water and oil components to mix. That's why you'll find them in all standard, water-containing skin care.
For most, the inclusion of an emulsifier is not problematic. However, when the skin’s barrier is compromised (e.g. by acne, eczema or rosacea) emulsifiers can cause further damage to the skin’s barrier.
Some emulsifiers have also been shown to be allergenic.
Mokosh products are completely emulsifier-free.
The truth is that any ingredient has the potential to cause a skin reaction - no matter how 'pure' the product is.
However, skin reactions are most commonly caused by synthetic ingredients - emulsifiers, preservatives and fragrances.
All our products are free of synthetic ingredients and suitable for most people with sensitive skin. We recommend our essential oil-free products to start with and we always suggest starting with sample sizes, just to be on the safe side.
